FDNY has a medical monitoring program available to any retiree who volunteered during 9/11  This program includes medication if needed and medical examinations. Click on the link below for a pdf copy of the flyer. It's recommended that everyone participate in this free program.

STAY CONNECTED

 

Stay Connected  is a program of the FDNY Counseling Service Unit. It is a program that helps FDNY retirees make the transition from active duty to a fulfilling retirement.

Retiree Breakfast Series          Free Retiree Breakfast each month with different speakers at every CSU site

 

Retiree Support Group            Come talk about any issues related to your retirement with other guys in the same situation. Tuesday mornings at Lafayette St.

 

Free Computer Training          Beginning and Intermediate Computer Training. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

 

Manhattan Yoga Series          Yoga for retired firefighters. 594 Broadway Ste 500. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Ongoing open enrollment.

 

Story Corps                             Tell a story about your experience on the job, 9/11, or anything significant in your life. Recordings will be archived in the Library of Congress. Family members welcome to participate as well. Ongoing dates.

 

Life after Retirement           The group integrates writing exercise and discussion with wellness techniques: including stretching, meditation, and other relaxation tools. Lunch is provided. Brentwood CSU, Mondays.

 

Less than 20 years          For FDNY Personnel who retire with less than 20 years on the job. Midtown and Fort Totten.

 

Acupuncture          Weekly acupuncture at all CSU locations.

 


WTC Medical Monitoring

Program                                  Free medical follow-up and health surveillance in compliance with recent NYS legislation recognizing the delayed medical outcomes for 9/11 exposures in retirees. For more info contact either Phil Mouren (718) 999-0305.
